1:2:1 dog training focuses on teaching practical skills such as loose lead walking, recall foundations, engagement and everyday manners. These sessions are ideal for puppies or dogs who need guidance with specific training goals and learning new behaviours.
1:2:1 behavioural coaching goes deeper, supporting dogs who are struggling with emotional or behavioural challenges such as reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression, or long standing behaviour concerns. Behavioural coaching looks at the why behind the behaviour, considers factors such as environment, learning history and emotional wellbeing. Youll be supported with a tailored behaviour modification plan and ongoing regular guidance.
Behaviour changes are closely linked to a dog’s physical health and wellbeing. Pain, discomfort, illness, or underlying medical conditions can significantly impact behaviour, including fear, reactivity, aggression, or changs in tolerance and mood. A veterinary check helps me rule out or identify any medical factors that may be contributing to your dog’s behaviour, ensuring that behavioural coaching is ethical, safe and effective. Addressing behaviour without understanding your dog’s physical health can limit progress and in some cases risk worsening the issue.
For this reason, veterinary clearance is required before starting 1:2:1 behavioural coaching. This allows me to work alongside your vet where needed and provide the most appropriate, welfare-focused support for your dog.
If your unsure wether a vet visit is needed in your situation, please feel free to get in touch and ill be happy to advise!
